From a pro­mon­to­ry that juts out on the slopes of the Mut­spitz, Schloss Tirol cas­tle (pho­to above) looks out over Mer­an. From the ho­tel, you can look on­to this an­ces­tral seat of the Counts of Ty­rol who gave the re­gion its name.
