By car

Over the Reschen Pass:
From the Reschen Pass through the Vinschgau, towards Meran. After the Brauerei Forst brewery, take the “Algund” exit, continue to the right towards Meran on the Josef-Weingartner-Straße road and go straight on past two sets of traffic lights and one roundabout. After 500 m, turn left to the Hotel Wiesenhof

 

On the Brenner motorway:
Exit at Bozen Süd and take the dual carriageway towards Meran. Exit at “Meran Mitte“. Turn right at the 1st roundabout, go through the tunnel and continue to the left towards the “Reschenpass”. At the next roundabout, turn left onto the Josef-Weingartner-Straße road. After around 1km, turn right to the Hotel Wiesenhof

By bus

From Germany or Austria:
The Meraner Land Express runs from Munich Central Station directly to the hotel every Wednesday and Saturday from mid-March to mid-November for a fee of 85.00 euro.

 

FlixBus runs to Meran via Munich and Innsbruck several times a day from a variety of towns and cities in Germany and Austria. From Meran, the Südtirol Transfer service will bring you to the hotel.

 

In the summer months, the daily Prenner shuttle bus service offers all E5 hikers return transport from Meran to Oberstdorf from 45.00 euro.

 

From Switzerland:
The Südtirol-Express runs to Algund via St. Gallen, Winterthur and Zürich every Saturday from April to October for a fee of 185,00 CHF (return). Booking fee 10.00 CHF.

By train

Train connections to South Tyrol are excellent from Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Italy. The ÖBB Nightjet from Hamburg via Hannover to Innsbruck is exceptionally convenient, and there are also a number of direct train connections between Innsbruck and Meran. The Algund station is roughly a 10-minute walk from the Hotel Wiesenhof. A number of bus lines also run between the hotel and the train station: the 217 (Forst), 213 (Partschins), 235 (Vellau) and 237. Just ring the bell after the roundabout at the ALGO shopping centre so that the driver knows when to let you off.

 

If you come here by train, we cover the costs for the last few miles: Just show us a receipt and we will reimburse your taxi costs to and from Meran train station (approx. 5 minutes).

By plane

South Tyrol’s local airport is in Bolzano, around a 30-minute drive from Algund. SkyAlps fly directly to Bolzano from Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Kassel and Berlin every week.

 

There are also a number of flights from Germany to Innsbruck.

 

www.altoadigebus.com services run from Verona, Innsbruck, Bergamo, Milan Malpensa and Munich airport to South Tyrol.
