Greek mythol­o­gy al­ready tells of the vi­tal in­gre­di­ents found in an ap­ple:

The Recipe for Suc­cess: A com­bi­na­tion of vi­ta­mins A, B1, B2, B6, C and E, as well as valu­able en­zymes that sti­m­u­late cell re­gen­er­a­tion.
